Dr. Rebecca Yun-Lee is a licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist, who specializes in the treatment and diagnostic evaluation of children and adolescents from the age of 2. Her areas of expertise include: adult and children’s attentional disorders; Autism spectrum disorders and other pervasive developmental disorders; learning difficulties; Depression, Anxiety, and disruptive behavioral disorders; as well as disruptions in emotional and personality functioning.
As a mother to a child with special needs, Dr. Yun-Lee has had the unique opportunity to not only work as a clinician in this area, but is a client as well. As such, she is able to appreciate and understand the many challenges that each family may face when working to support a child with developmental weaknesses.
Dr. Yun-Lee obtained her Ph.D. in clinical psychology and certification in school psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU). She completed her internship at Maimonides Medical Center and her post-doctoral fellowship with the Jewish Board Family and Children Services working in both the Learning Center and the Child Development Center. There, she obtained specific training working with children experiencing a variety of developmental and sensory delays. During her doctoral studies, Dr. Yun-Lee has also trained in prominent New York hospitals including Beth Israel Medical Center and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In addition, she conducted research and completed her dissertation with Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.
At present, Dr. Yun-Lee splits her time at FOCUS and as a consulting psychologist at FDU’s Center for Psychological Services. In addition to conducting neuropsychological assessments, she supervises doctoral students conducting intakes, therapy, and psycho-educational evaluations. She has also periodically returned to FDU as an adjunct instructor teaching graduate level courses in personality theories as well as undergraduate courses in health and general psychology.
Dr. Yun-Lee balances her busy career by spending time with her family, taking in life’s simple pleasures such as long walks with her children or a trip to the zoo. She is also an active participant in her son’s school and has helped organize several fundraisers.
